Good Day!!! Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Saturdays? The reason I love Saturdays is because my husband is home. He is normally home on week nights, but it is different on Saturdays. For one full day, I do not have to be ON DEMAND the whole day. I can say "go ask your dad."
I tend to be the one that says Yes to most of the things the kids ask, so the normally come to me. My man is the one who says No. My theory on this is why say NO, unless there is a good reason to say NO. Is it unhealthy, unsafe or immoral? While my husband just says NO for the sake of the word (I think) LOL Maybe there is some logic behind it (my husband is typically a very logical kind of man) but I do not know what it always is.)
As you know, it is the Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday. I was just telling everyone on our Design Team how I have a hard time remembering what the exact name of it is... I always call it something different...Sugar Shack, Sweet Spot, Sugar Spot, etc. LOL So when typing or thinking about the blog address, I have to go to my blog and LOOK! :)
Here is the SKETCH

and here is my creation...

Here are the details:

Stamps: Autumn Blessings, and I'd Pick You, SU Lovely as a Tree, All in a Row, Friendly Words Wheel
Cardstock and Ink: Garden Green, Close to Cocoa, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Designer DP
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Skeleton Leaf, Build a Brad, Dimensionals, Air brush, Copics,

We would love it if you could play along - you can see the rest of the Design Team's wonderful projects and you can even have a chance to win a stamp set!

Have a terrific day!

Hello! Happy Friday! We had such a great time yesterday at the Survive Alive Fire House.
Today is ROUND UP day on the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog, you will definitely want to check out everyone's creations.
This week's Bloggers Challenge is to CASE an old card if yours. If I do not send my cards out, I tend to donate them - so I looked for a card and found this one...

using Courtney's Easter Lily set, I created this card....

a few things i have changed...

1. Colors, Cardstock and Ink
2. Moved the ribbon (and the size of it) to the bottom
3. Put a smaller oval on the top rather than a circle as my focal point.

To see the other Blogger Challenge participants projects click on the icon on the side. I enjoy looking at their projects!

Come back tomorrow for the Sweet Stop Sketch! Have a blessed weekend!

Poppin' Pastels Christian Paper Crafts

Hello my friends,

I am so excited about today because my children and I are going to the SURVIVE ALIVE FIRE HOUSE in Milwaukee as a field trip with their girls club and boys club (I am a co-leader for the Boys Club).

This week's NEW TO YOU Challenge on the Christian Paper Craft Magazine forum is to create a project using the POPPIN' PASTELS technique.

Poppin' Pastels uses your Versamark pad and Pastels. Pastels is another name for a high quality chalk... So if you don't have pastels in your craft room and if you have children - go grab their sidewalk chalk or chalk board supplies! Ink your stamp with your Versamark pad. Stamp the image on cardstock. Lightly draw some color from your pastels using a sponge dauber, q-tip, or cotton ball into the pastel of your choice. You will not need to use a lot of pressure on your chalks, this will make them crumble. It will still useable, just not so pretty sitting in the tray and messier too. Once you have the applicator of choice "chalked up", gently press or dab it over your versamarked image.

The versamark will absorb the color and your image will pop out, you may even have some residue of color on your cardstock but the main image will be the image you stamped. Above is my sample to help inspire you for your start. You can also see it in the gallery here . When uploading to the gallery use the keyword NTYW05. When uploading to other online galleries or your blog please use the keyword CPCM-NTYW05. Also, please leave a comment here in this thread with a link to your creation so we can be sure to check it out. There is no time limit for playing so just have fun!

Here is my list of supplies...

Stamp Set: Dream Silhuoettes by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Floral Bg by SU

Cardstock, Ink & Pastel colors: Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, barely Banana, versamark,

Accessories:Blue pearls, Dimensionals, Oval cutter

We are weathering a storm here (again) 'Tis the "season" :) so this is the Scripture I am meditating upon today.

Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Easter Lilies and Faith

Hello! I know time is limited for so many as I am feeling the crunch with the end of the school year. Next month our oldest child graduates! I can barely believe it. It seems like just yesterday she came as a 4 year old to live with us. The years have really flown by. While the past several years have been difficult, it has been by FAITH in God's plan that has pulled us through!
Have you been to Christian Paper Crafts Magazine yet? It is a new Stamping community similar to Splitcoast Stampers but Christ centered. I am enjoying it. I have not been to every place there yet, but as I have time I go check it out. They have challenges every day and on Wednesdays I host a challenge for them called Ways to use It - this week's challenge is to Paper Piece - yesterdays card with the Child of God stamp set is one I created for this challenge too. If you wish to participate the code to use NTY-W04
This card also uses their Color Challenge - CPCM-CM03 and Sketch Challenge CPCM-ST04.
Today, I am going to work on graduation announcements and party invitations. I am ready for summer, so I can just stop thinking. :)
here are the details of my card:
Stamp Sets: Easter Lily & Trust in the Lord by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, All in a Row by SU

Hello! This week Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring the CPS Sketch Challenges...
Have you ever had an Ah-Ha Moment? I have been reading the book pf Proverbs to my children and yesterday we were reading in Proverbs 4-6 and what spoke to my heart yesterday was the following verse...
Proverbs 6:1-5 My son, if you become surety (indebted to or in hock) for your friend, If you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, 2 You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth. 3 So do this, my son, and deliver yourself; For you have come into the hand of your friend: Go and humble yourself; Plead with your friend. 4 Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. 5 Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler."
What did I get out of this Scripture? The past few months, I have been wanting to join Design Teams and have made a commitment to a few different ones - the Copic Colour Design Team and this past week to Kimm Bt Thompsons Copic Design Team. These two groups of Designers are so talented, who wouldn't want to be amongst their group?
While I made a commitment to them, the past few weeks with school happening, joining the Technique Junkies Design Team - thinking I can do it all. Well, I can't and it is affecting my desire to WANT to stamp. It has become stressful rather than JOYFUL. I made a mistake and over-committed myself, so I had to humble myself and step down from a few things. So this week will be the last time you will see a "regular posting" on the Copic Colour Challenge. I will still participate but it will not be as a Design Team member.
I want to do my best in everything I do, for God's glory and I have been failing in that area for the past few weeks.
This week Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring the CPS Sketch Challenges...
I chose to use the Child of God stamp set to show case for this challenge.
Here are the details:
Stamp Set: Child of God
Cardstock: Tempting Turqouise, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery,
Scrapbook Kit by SU Special Delivery
Technique used; Paper Piecing
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Nestibilities circle and scallop, Dimensionals, 5/16th brads

This is also Christian Paper Crafts weekly challenge day - I am enjoying that group and look forward to joining in some more areas in the forums. They have changed to a NEW location and you will find it HERE.

Teresa Kline,
Suzy Haghighi
Courtney Fowler
Lorie Ames
Cindy Lawrence
Jeanette Comerford
Sandy Domelle
Tami Mayberry

I have to say regarding the Copic Colour Challenge is that I LOVE these colors. They are not the ones I normally reach for, but I just love them once they are together. You really need to check out the Design Team blog - they are AMAZING projects!

This is a new Digi stamp by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - I think it is absolutely adorable!

Check out the remaining Design team projects - they are sure to WOW you! We would love to see what you create as well!

Testimony from my friend Jodi...

Hello my friends,
I wanted to share this story a week ago, but temporarily forgot about it until mid week...then with the Blog Hop and other things going on, I decided to wait until today...
I have a dear friend who has an amazing testimony of God's provision and grace. Jodi shared these words of encouragement last week and I wanted to share them with you. Her son Luke has been suffering from an illness for several years, you can find out more here...
Yesterday was not a good day. It is good to put it behind us as we hope for better. After we received the awesome news about Luke's MRI, his face fell and he asked what was wrong with him then? All of us, Luke especially, needs answers. While we praise God for the normal MRI, we beg for relief from pain for Luke. During the day, I began to hope things were improving. He didn't need pain meds until 2pm -- it hurt but was manageable and he was truly happy.
Last night, for the first time, the narcotic didn't work almost at all. We have so enjoyed the hours in the evening where he can run and play pain free with a huge grin on his face. I found myself marveling and watching him each evening just praising God that he could smile. Watching the girls and praising God they were not in pain. He did get some temporary relief (about an hour?) last night but we've become accustomed to seeing him acting like himself for at least a few hours following us giving him drugs.
Then I made a medication error and gave him oxycodone instead of ibuprofen. We are supposed to be limiting the oxycodone to every 4 hours. But he was able to have ibuprofen as well. So, I went to get ibuprofen and said "this never works anyways, I'll just start with the oxycodone". The routine is to do ibuprofen and if it doesn't work, do oxycodone an hour later. But yesterday it was 2 hours between medications. WELL, that made him giggly. As he lay there and I had to carry him to bed, he said "it still hurts" giggle and I said "but you don't care do you" and we were laughing together. Praise God, he slept through the night -- probably passed out from being overmedicated. We hope it was a blessed relief from the nonstop pain. At least, I hope and pray bedtime is comfortable for him.
Luke's spinal is this morning. We have not spent much time worrying about it and are VERY hopeful that we will hear he is still in remission; however, facing it today has been more difficult than I thought. We are feeling nervous and unsettled.
This morning, as Shawn left for work, I felt my stomach hurt and wanted to shout - don't leave I need you. Shawn is so often the rock I lean on. I am so volitile but he is so sturdy and calm. (understatement for those of us who know me).
Anyways, I suddenly stopped and realized, my rock has not left. I am never alone and I turned to my Bible. I have just been reading where led and this moring, I received such an obvious word from God. In light of yesterdays great news, I have been unwilling to be entirely honest about the fact that I am personally crumbling under the weight of Luke's pain. Seeing my child like this is simply tearing me into shreds. I didn't want to put a damper on everyone. BUT I have been open a little in private.
Anyways, I grabbed the Message this morning and opened to 2 Corinthians 4 - I love 2 Corinthians. It's so full of struggles and often speaks to me just when I need it. As I read, I felt my heart change. I KNEW I needed to share this.
vs 1 "Since God has so generously let us in on what he is doing, we're not about to throw up our hands and walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times. We REFUSE TO WEAR MASKS and play games. We don't maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. . . . rather, we keep everything we do and say OUT IN THE OPEN, the WHOLE TRUTH ON DISPLAY, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God. . . .
" Empahsis -- over the past 4 years, one thing God has gently pushed me towards is transparency. That a window doesn't shine unless it's clear. And that it's not my job to shine, it's my job to be transparent so Jesus can shine through me. That was my answer. I had been hemming and hawing and praying about whether to post how truly difficult this situation is becoming for us.
vs 5 "remember , our message is not about ourselves; we've PROCLAIMING JESUS CHRIST, THE MASTER. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, 'Light up the darkness!' and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ; all bright and beautiful."
vs 7 ""if you only look at US, you might well miss the brightness. We carry this precious message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ORDINARY lives. That's to prevent anyone from confusing God's incomparable power with us. As it is, there's not much chance of that. you know for yourselves that we're not much to look at.
vs 8 to 10 (which have been some of my life verses for a long time) "We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been throw down, but we haven't been broken. "
(emphasis mine - that is our biggest thing - we don't know what to do to advocate to get our precious child help)
vs 16 to 18 "So we're not giving up! how could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hards times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever."
Some of you are facing tremendous difficulties today. Maybe you have financial difficulties or marital difficulties. Maybe you are in a rut and just can't get out of it. Each of us has our own troubles. We have friends facing difficulties beyond what we can imagine. Right now, we have friends still struggling under the weight of a lost child (or children). We have friends with a child on hospice, friends whose child is fighting for their life, friends making decisions about quality of life care for their child, friends who have one oncology child who have yet another being referred to oncology for an unknown abnormality. There is a gentleman from our church hospitalized right now due to his cancer. Everywhere there are trials and tribulations, problems that seemingly have no solution. If you have one of these problems, I promise you GOD IS THERE. And our prayers are with you.
WHEREVER YOU ARE, Jesus is there. He promises to never leave us or forsake us. May each and every person reading this post feel God's grace encompassing their lives today. May His peace surround your heart and soul. NO matter what the trial what the situation, we pray that you would meet God today.
Jodi has given me permission to share this. I hope this blesses your heart today.
Because of Jesus' Love,
Chrissy D
